Nanoindex improves the optical performance of materials

AIDO has developed a innovative technique to measure the refractive index thereby be able to know the optical properties of a independent material  if the sample is liquid or solid and if its surface is rough or smooth.

Technological innovation:
The Nanoindex project designs and develops nanostructures and nanocomposites that allows to modify the refractive index of materials for improving its optical performance.
Industrial application:
The different lines of work include:
  • Obtaining an opaque liquid paint with lightly loaded pigment, thin thickness and corrosion resistant (With thin layers of pigment  get lighter paints, so the weighs is less).
  • Obtaining a protective coating of high gloss and high transparency in the visible range (varnish that protect against corrosion and sunlight).
  • Obtaining powder coatings with effective absorption of infrared radiation and ultraviolet, which raises a significant savings of time and energy, especially during the curing phase.
  • Obtaining fiber and fabrics with multi-color effect depending on the viewing angle.
